I want to thank everyone that visited the site for taking the time and sharing with us their input and feelings. In reading the comments, it was clear that people were truthful and sincere in their responses.

1. Given the fact that Saratoga County is projected to lose approximately $9 million in 2012 for the operation of the Maplewood Manor Nursing Home, should the County sell the Nursing Home to a private operator?

RESULTS:
YES – 40 NO – 60 Undecided – 2

2. Given the County’s investment in the Landfill and the need for the County to generate additional revenue, should the County investigate renting or selling the landfill to a private operator?

RESULTS:
YES – 73 NO – 19 Undecided – 10

3. To generate additional revenue to pay for the unfunded State mandates, Should the County raise property tax and/or should the County raise the Sales Tax to 8%? (more difficult to tally based on question wording)

RESULTS:
YES – 61 (to Sales Tax Only)
NO – Just about everyone said NO to a Property Tax increase
NO – 43 Said NO to Sales Tax Increase

4. Should all County Employees contribute toward the cost of their health insurance?

RESULTS:
YES – 80 – of these a majority say new hires should contribute but not the ones that have been employed for years. Some said there should be a sliding scale depending on longevity
NO – 22
